Nice shoot Dom, apart from the catwalk bit which wasn't too great TBH. I'm surprised you didn't use a lightstand for the beauty dish in the first part, it looks like there was room. Any reason why not?
yep, there was no rehersal, no idea of where they were going to be walking, no idea of how fast they were coming or in what order, they just kinda came out and wondered around. almost impossible to set up if you dont know the direction of the people walking. there was no real cat walk as such
I meant the first part of the video, not the catwalk bit, where you were holding the beauty dish in your hand. BTW I just added a shower-cap mod to my ringflash gizmo to make a beauty dish after watching that!
I also noticed that you were getting much less consistent flash exposure than I usually get with my D700/SB900, did you have it on spot-metering by accident or something maybe? I thought a D300 would be much the same as mine.
Why did i not bring a flash stand? again I didnt even know what the shooot was, also noone was standnig around for long enough and i am happy enough with the results hand held.
