The Nikon Fish eye lens is a bit crazy, its wide enough to capture your toes and the top of your head when you are taking the photo. This shot was taken 14cm away from Kim (practically touching her nose and yet look at how much of her you can see!
More details after the break
Here is the close up shots with the first being at f2.8 the second being at f5.6 both having great sharpness
The chromatic aberration is barley noticeable in either of these photos, the focusing is fast and sharp and silent. the depth of field is massive and you only get the most modest of mushy soft backgrounds when shooting up really close to something. This lens also works for doing panoramic photos really well. only about 5 photos need to be taken and you can have a full 360 degree image which when edited in PTgui you can get the little planet style photos.

Dom,
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying these lens reviews as well as all your other videos, of course. You're a fun and informative teacher. I've recently picked up a used Nikon d40 and have been having a grand time with it. Your videos help keep me inspired.
